For UK general aviation and gliding airfields

The front desk for your airfield.

Signal Square books aircraft in and out, takes landing fees and fuel payments, handles PPR online and runs the screens in your clubhouse. It comes as one small box that sits at your airfield.

The Signal Square live arrivals board: a map of traffic around the airfield beside the list of expected arrivals and aircraft landed today, with runway, temperature and wind across the top.

Book in and out

Visitors and residents use a touch screen in the clubhouse. Every movement lands in one log, ready for your reports.

Take the money

Landing fees and fuel are worked out for you and paid by card on the spot, so nobody has to chase an honesty box.

Show the picture

Weather, runway in use, NOTAMs, expected arrivals and live traffic rotate on the clubhouse screen all day.

What it does

One system, four places it shows up

At the kiosk

  • Visitors book in and out, with their aircraft and where they've come from
  • Residents book out in a couple of taps
  • Landing fees by aircraft type or by weight band
  • Fuel sales, with as many fuel types as you sell
  • Card payment through SumUp

Online

  • Pilots ask for PPR from your own web address
  • Your staff accept, decline or reply from the admin pages
  • Confirmation emails go out from your own club address
  • Expected arrivals show up on the clubhouse board

On the screens

  • METAR, TAF, wind and the best runway
  • NOTAM briefing with a map of your local airspace
  • Arrivals boards, including a live map
  • Live traffic from PilotAware, ADS-B or the Open Glider Network
  • Your own notices, photos and video in the rotation

In the office

  • Movement and payment reports
  • VAT receipts and a VAT report, if you're registered
  • Members, aircraft and syndicates
  • Separate logins for staff and for resident flying schools
  • Backups and data downloads whenever you want them

Gliding and GA

Switch on only what your airfield uses

Each feature is a module. You turn them on and off yourself from the admin pages, and anything you switch off disappears from the kiosk, the screens and the menus.

For gliding sites

  • Launch control Screens and a touch console at the launch point
  • Task of the day Tasks, entrants and live task tracking
  • Soaring forecast Soaring and RASP forecasts on the screens
  • Glider tracking Positions from the Open Glider Network
  • Trial flights Experience vouchers and trial flight booking

For GA airfields

  • Resident operators Flying schools with their own login, aircraft, pilots and rate
  • Commercial use Day passes for training, filming and other commercial flying
  • Club hire fleet Your own aircraft, hired out by tacho hours
  • ADS-B receiver Live traffic from a receiver you already have, or one in the box
  • Movement detection Arrivals and departures logged from a PilotAware ATOM

For everyone

  • Online PPR Always included
  • NOTAMs Briefing screen and map
  • Fuel prices Kept in step with your own web page
  • Model flyers and paramotors Their own book-in pages
  • Telegram alerts Runway and notice changes posted to your group

How it works

A box at your airfield, looked after from ours

  1. 1

    The box arrives

We send you a small computer with Signal Square already on it. Plug it into your network and a screen and it's ready to set up.

  2. 2

    You answer a few questions

A setup wizard asks for your airfield, runways, fees and the modules you want. It builds your local airspace map for you.

  3. 3

    It stays up to date

New versions are signed by us and installed from your admin pages when it suits you. Nothing changes mid flying day.

Your data stays with you

Members, movements and payments are held on your own box, not in a database shared with other airfields. You can download them at any time.

Your own web address

Pilots reach your PPR page at yourairfield.signalsquare.co.uk, or on your club's own domain if you prefer.

Keeps going without broadband

Booking in and out runs on the box itself, so a dropped connection doesn't stop the flying day being recorded.
